HARTFORD, CT - Nationally ranked Trinity broke away from a scoreless tie to score twice in the second period and added two more goals in the third to take a 4-0 non-conference men's hockey victory over the Golden Flyers on Tuesday.

The Bantams, ranked third nationally by d3hockey.com and fifth by uscho.com, improved to 3-0 overall after winning the first-ever meeting between the two schools

Both teams started slow, but it was Trinity College who figured things out en route to a 4-0 win.
 
Nazareth looked to rebound after a rough loss to Lebanon Valley, 5-2, on Saturday, but instead dropped a second consecutive road game. The Golden Flyers are now 3-5 overall on the season.
 
Trinity dominated in nearly every facet of the game, holding Nazareth scoreless for the first time this season.
 
The Golden Flyers failed to capitalize on a trio of power plays early on and were outshot 17-7 before the first goal. Following a scoreless first period, Trinity found the net with an Anthony Sabitsky goal midway through the second period, then Barclay Gammill added to the Bantam's lead just two minutes later. Nazareth trailed 2-0 with twenty minutes remaining.
 
Tyler Whitney tacked on Trinity College's third goal on a power play four minutes into the third period. Nazareth had a final opportunity to make a comeback when, with two and a half minutes left, it went on a five minute power play. The Golden Flyers emptied the net, but to no avail. A Dylan Healey goal for Trinity College with a minute to play sealed the shut-out victory.
 
Nazareth had a total of six power plays, but could not take advantage of any of them.
 
Michael Tilford had 31 saves for Nazareth and Tedy Loughborough saved all 15 shots for Trinity College.
 
Nazareth resumes conference play next week in the United Collegiate Hockey Conference. The Golden Flyers travel to King's, Pa. on Friday Dec. 1 and to Manhattanville on Dec. 2.
