Rochester, NY – Visiting Geneseo broke a 1-1 tie late in the second half with three goals in less than three minutes to propel the Knights to a 4-1 victory over Nazareth Saturday. It was the final home game for the Golden Flyers in 2017 as they honored their lone senior
Marisa Walck. Walck had one defensive save for Nazareth in the game.
Nazareth drops to 2-14 overall with the loss, while Geneseo, winners of seven straight contests, improves to 10-5.
The first half of play was extremely even with each team generating five penalty corners. Geneseo held a 12-9 edge in shots at the break.

Jennifer Hilts had a one-on-one breakaway with the Geneseo goalkeeper 15 minutes in, however, the Knights netminder came out to cut the angle and make the save.
Hilts had another strong opportunity with 17 minutes remaining in the half, backhanding a pass off a penalty corner just wide of the far post.
The first scoring of the game came off a penalty corner at 26:22, as Gabriella Clare tapped in a deflected shot in front, putting the visitors ahead 1-0.
Nazareth had an answer shortly after off a penalty corner. With congestion in the middle of the goal,
Alexandra Livesey snuck a pass to the back post for a one-time shot from
Emily Prescott to even the score at 1-1.
It was 1-1 at the half.
The second half belonged to the Knights as they mustered 25 shots to just one for the Golden Flyers.
Geneseo broke the tie at 60:23 on a long shot from Morgan Maley.
Shortly after, Clare scored her second of the day, redirecting a shot in front from Giovanna Fasanello, making it 3-1.
Just :27 seconds later, Fasanello scored her 16
th goal of the season on a high-powered shot to make the margin 4-1.
Kimber Nourse made 18 saves in net for Nazareth.
The Golden Flyers close the regular season with two games on the road, beginning on Wednesday at Cortland for a 4 p.m. start.
