ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Senior Jordan Demo made his first career start in net, stopping 19-of-21 shots, to help Nazareth to a 4-2 victory over visiting Franklin Pierce Friday night.

Nazareth improves to 5-6-4 overall, while the Ravens fall to 2-12.

The home squad came out of the gates firing, outshooting the opposition 19-3 in the opening period.

Sophomore Ryan Walter put Nazareth on the board with a goal 9:34 into the first period.  Alex Corvi set up the pass from behind the net to a streaking Walter for the tap-in.  Rocky Gruttadauria also picked up an assist on the play.

Nazareth scored again just :21 seconds later as Packy Jones tallied a goal for the third consecutive game to make it 2-0.  Jones' goal was assisted by freshman, Jacob Paluch who earned his first career assist.

Franklin Pierce got its offense going in the second period, outshooting the home team 12-9.

The Ravens tallied two goals just two and a half minutes apart, starting at the 7:36 mark.  After a goal from Paddy Murphy, David Wilcox finished a scrum in front of the net to tie up the score at 2-2.

Nazareth rebounded, however, and was able to capitalize on a power play opportunity late in the period, when John Power brought the puck all the way down the ice and scored for the fifth time this season with the man advantage.

In the final period of play, the Golden Flyers hit the post twice and didn't find the net until late in the period. Scott Andler scored an empty net goal with just five seconds remaining to seal the victory.

Nazareth finished with a 41-21 shot advantage.

The Golden Flyers will travel to The College at Brockport on Saturday for a 7 p.m. start.
