Updated statsROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Visiting Hobart scored the go-ahead goal with 1:53 left in regulation Friday and then added an empty-net goal with :31 left as the Statesmen defeated Nazareth in an ECAC West men's hockey game, 5-3, at Bill Gray's Regional Iceplex.
Hobart remained unbeaten in conference play at 3-0. The Statesmen are 3-1-1 overall. Nazareth hosts Elmira Saturday still in search of its first win. The Golden Flyers dropped to 0-2-2 overall and 0-2-1 in the ECAC West.
The late goals -- scored by Tanner Shaw and Mac Olson -- spoiled a strong second-period comeback by the Golden Flyers, who scored three times in that 20-minute stretch to tie the score at 3-3 heading into the third period. Olson's empty-netter was his third goal of the game and seventh of the season.

Brad Pizzey had a goal and an assist for Nazareth. Freshman

Oliver Janzen also scored in the second period for the Golden Flyers, who rallied from a 2-0 deficit.
Hobart's first two goals came in the opening minute of the first and second periods respectively. Olson scored on the first shot of the game just :17 into the first period to give the Statesmen an early advantage. Then in the second period, Brad Robbins scored just :24 in off assists from Ben Gamache and Olson.
Nazareth used the power play to tie the score in the second period. After Olson was whistled for roughing, Powlowski capitalized by scoring his second goal of the season off assists from Pizzey and
Ryan Walter. Then after Gamache was assessed a five-minute major penalty and a game misconduct for a butt-ending violation, Pizzey scored his first career goal with an assist from senior captain
Scott Dawson.
Hobart regained the lead with 3:27 left in the second on Olson's second goal of the game, but Janzen evened the score again with 1:57 left in the period with an assist from
John Power.
Each team had power play chances in the third period, but the game remained tied until Shaw delivered the first gfoal of his career for the Statesmen on a blast from the point with assists to Jordan Haskell and Trevor Poirer.
Nazareth pulled goalie
Ed Zdolshek with a minute to play and that enabled Olson to tack on the insurance goal.
Hobart had a 28-27 edge in shots. Zdolshek was credited with 22 saves. Hobart's Lino Chimienti had 24 stops.
