CLINTON, N.Y. -- Nazareth opened its 2013 men's golf season Sunday with a seventh-place finish at the Utica Fall Invitational, contested at Skenandoa Golf Club. Senior
Nick Polito produced Nazareth's lowest score with a 7-over-par 79 on the 6,765-yard layout.
Nazareth's total score of 322 was 28 strokes behind the team champion Scranton (294), which had the tournament medalist in Grant Gulick, who fired a 4-under-par 68. He was one of two golfers to break par.
Polito's score was good for a tie for 18th place individually. One stroke back was junior
Dan Strack, who finished in a tie for 22nd place with a score of 80. Sophomores
Brett Barton and
Sean de Herder had scores of 81 and 82 respectively. Sophomore
James Sergeant (85) and senior
Ben Waldman (86) also competed for the Golden Flyers.
