ERIE, Pa. -- Host Penn State Behrend broke open a close game Tuesday by outscoring Nazareth 34-24 in the second half on the way to a 59-43 women's basketball victory in a non-conference game.
The loss was the fifth straight for the Golden Flyers, who dropped to 11-13 overall. Nazareth closes its season Saturday at St. John Fisher at 6 p.m. Penn State Behrend extended its winning streak to five games and is 19-4 overall.
The score was tied 6-6 following a three-pointer by Nazareth's
Brittany Patenaude, but the Lions scored the next eight points and were ahead the rest of the way. Nazareth stayed close by connecting on five three-pointers in the first half, but Penn State Behrend maintained a 25-19 lead at the break.
The Lions' lead grew to double digits early in the second half. Brittany Wilwohl made back to back baskets to push the lead to 33-21. Wilwohl and Kim Pol each scored 10 points for the Lions in the second half. Pol made all four of her field goal attempts, including one three-pointer. She finished with a team-high 14 points while Wilwohl finished with 12.

Katie Kollar paced Nazareth with 14 points, including four three-point baskets. She has 65 three-pointers for the season, just three off the single-season Nazareth record. Senior
Brittany Wilson added eight points -- all in the first half.
Nazareth shot 17 for 57 (29.8 percent) overall, including 8 for 15 fro three-point range. Penn State Behrend went 26 for 66 (39.4 percent) from the field with three three-point baskets.
