ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Host Rochester won 10 of 16 events Sunday as the Yellowjackets defeated Nazareth, 186-110, in women's swimming and diving action. Rochester also defeated Nazareth in the men's meet, 181-92.
In the women's meet, Nazareth senior
Rachael Phipps won three races and junior
Carissa Risucci won two. Both also swam on Nazareth's 400 medley relay that posted a winning time of 4:09.04. Sophomore
Maura Reissig and senior
Jaclyn Conklin also competed.
Phipps won both the 50- and 100-yard freestyles with times of 24.17 and 52.91 respectively. She also finished first in the 100 butterfly with a time of 58.88. Risucci won both breaststroke events, swimming 1:09.39 in the 100 and 2:29.06 in the 200.
Nazareth also received a second-place finish from junior
McKenna Murphy in the 500-yard freestyle (5:29.55), who also swam on the 200-yard free relay that placed second in 1:43.94. Reissig, sophomore
Emily Sauter and senior
Holly Gilligan also swam in that event.
In the men's meet, junior
Mike Bidwell won the 200 breaststroke in 2:22.98. Other top performers included sophomore
Justin Sawran, who placed second in the 1,000 freestyle (10:30.03); senior
Dan Walton, who placed second in t he 100 butterfly (2:13.23); and junior
Jacob Kline, who placed second in the 100 backstroke (:56.43) and third in the 100 butterfly (:55.37).
