ITHACA, N.Y. -- Nazareth opened its men's and women's track and field seasons Saturday at the Cornell Relays. No tea scoring was kept, but the Golden Flyers managed to post some solid perfomances.

In the women's meet, junior Kelsey Ryan placed 11th in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 20:01.01. Seniors Katie Mutter and Michelle Gillette finished 15th (20:42.12) and 16th (21:13.99) respectively.

Graduate student Kristi Custer placed 16th in the 60-meter hurdles (:10.53) and 21st in the triple jump (9.91 meters) and freshman Kristen Antolos finished 15th in the 3,000-meter run (11:13.85). She was followed by fellow freshman Meleana Spera in 19th place (11:20.97). Senior Heather Irish was 15th in the weight throw (9.41 meters).

In the men's meet, freshman Ira Griffin was 11th in both the 60-meter dash (7.14) and the 300-meter dash (:36.28). Senior Tim Rutan was 26th in ther 3,000-meter run (9:48.48).
