BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Host Buffalo St. used a 25-0 scoring run midway through the first half to claim control of the women's basketball game between the visiting Golden Flyers and the Bengals Tuesday evening. After the scoring run, Buffalo maintained its lead and went on to the 64-50 victory. Senior

Following the loss, the Golden Flyers' record drops to 2-2 overall. The Bengals remain undefeated and improve to 4-0 with their victory. Nazareth's next contests come in the Wendy's Classic, scheduled for November 29th through December 3rd.

Katie Kollar gave the Golden Flyers a 3-0 lead as she connected on her first three-point attempt. After trading the early lead four times in less than two minutes, Nazareth took its largest lead of the game, 13-7, with 13:09 to play in the first half. Senior

Maria Allocco followed with a layup, and the run was capped with a three-pointer by senior
Danielle Chamberlain.
Buffalo St.'s decisive run began with 10:48 to play in the first period. Olivia Luciani connected on a three-point shot to start the scoring run, and the Bengals finished the run going a fiery 5-5 from beyond the arc. Buffalo St.'s defense, meanwhile, forced the Golden Flyers into nine missed field goals, two missed free throws, and two turnovers to build its lead.
The Golden Flyers pulled to within 14 points, 32-18, following a layup by senior
Ashley Gallagher and a three-pointer by Kollar. The Bengals scored the final four points of the period to take a 36-18 lead at halftime.
In the first 2:06 of the second half, Nazareth's deficit swelled to 24 points. The Golden Flyers, however, chipped away to get back into the game. Allocco's basket with 14:35 to play in regulation trimmed the Bengals' lead to 16 points. Senior

Becca Rumschik each connected on a three-pointer during the run. Nazareth climbed to within 14 points twice in the final two minutes, but the Bengals maintained their double-digit lead and prevented the Golden Flyers from putting a final scoring run together.
Kollar finished with a team-high 13 points while Patenaude recorded eight points. The Bengals held Wilson to her lone three-point basket. Wilson entered the game averaging 14.7 points per game.
Staci McElroy tallied a game-high 15 points and collected nine rebounds. Bianca Smiley finished with 13 points and 12 rebounds. The Bengals finished with a 46-35 advantage in rebounds and accumulated 13 steals. Barb Kiliszek had six steals for Buffalo St.
