ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Some of the old and some of the new is included in the announcement of the 25th anniversary all-time team for men's lacrosse. An 11-member team has been selected through voting by the Nazareth lacrosse alumni and will be included as part of Saturday's game between Nazareth and RIT at 1 p.m.
Today's game against RIT will be broadcast on local radio station WYSL (AM-1040 and FM-92.1) and will be available online at

One player from Nazareth's original team in 1986 (Bill Coons) is among the 11 players selected to the 25th anniversary team. Ryan Hotaling, a 2007 graduate, represents some of the Golden Flyers' more recent lacrosse history. Coons and Hotaling both were All-American attackmen and are joined at that position by 1992 graduate and All-American Marty Kelly.
Midfielders were Eric Goodberlet, '01; Jeremy Hollenbeck, '95; and Brent Rothfuss, '98. Tom Fritz, '97 was a long-stick midfielder, who is joined by defenders Dan Garrett, '98; Brandon Piccarreto, '98; and Dave Pratt, '93. The all-time goalie is Jake Coon, '01, who ironically is the head coach of RIT.

Bill Coons, attackman (1986-89). . . a two-time All-American and the Golden Flyers' all-time leading scorer with 312 career points. . . also holds single-season mark with 112 points in 1989. . . inducted into Nazareth Sports Hall of Fame in 1995.
Ryan Hotaling, attackman (2004-07). . . three-time All-American, including a first-team selection in '05 and '07...named Attackman of the Year in '05...amassed 232 career points, including 139 goals.
Marty Kelly, attackman (1989-92). . . a three-time All-American, including a first-team selection in '91 and '92...named Attackman of the Year in '92...all-time leader in goals with 142...inducted into Nazareth Sports Hall of Fame in 1998.
Eric Gooderblet, midfielder (1998-01). . . a three-time All-American, including a first-team selection in 2001...named Division III Player of the Year and Midfielder of the Year in 2001...amassed 153 career points, including 129 goals.
Jeremy Hollenbeck, midfielder (1991-94). . . a two-time All-American, including a first-team selection in '94...played on Golden Flyers' championship team in '92...inducted into Nazareth Sports Hall of Fame in 2003.
Brent Rothfuss, midfielder (1994-97). . . .a three-time All-American who earned first-team honors in '96 and '97...selected D-III Player of the Year for '97...amassed career 200 points...inducted into Nazareth Sports Hall of Fame in 2005.
Tom Fritz, long-stick midfielder (1994-97). . . a three-time All-American, including a first-team selection in 1997...scored 15 career goals and had 307 ground balls...inducted into Nazareth Sports Hall of Fame in 2008.
Dan Garrett, defenseman (1996-97). . . .a two-time All-American for the Golden Flyers' championship teams of '96 and '97...named Outstanding Defenseman in Division III in 1997...played in North-South Senior all-star game.
Brandon Piccarreto, defenseman (1993, 1996-98). . . a two-time first-team All-American selection ('96 and '97) who might have made it three times if not for a season-ending knee injury in 1998...helped the Flyers to two national titles.
Dave Pratt, defenseman (1988, 1990-92). . . a two-time first-team All-American who helped Nazareth to its first national title in 1992...ranks among all-time leaders with 219 ground balls...inducted into Nazareth Sports Hall of Fame in 2006.
Jake Coon, goalie (1997-00). . . Golden Flyers' only four-time All-American...named Goalie of the Year in 1998 and 2000...Nazareth's all-time saves leader with 769...inducted into Nazareth Sports Hall of Fame in 2009.
