ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- After tossing 21 2/3 scoreless innings, sophomore Kelly Kocher was rewarded by the Empire 8 Conference for the second time this season as Pitcher of the Week.

Kocher, of Victor, N.Y. and a graduate of Victor High School, improved to 7-3 overall by winning three games last week. She tossed a three-hitter with 16 strikeouts in a 3-0 win over Elmira Saturday and then added shutout wins in both ends of a doubleheader sweep at Stevens Sunday. She allowed just six hits in the two games and struck out 26.

For the season, Kocher has 134 strikeouts in 69.2 innings with a 1.11 earned run average.

Nazareth has non-conference doubleheaders at Oswego Monday and home against Cazenovia Wednesday.
