Megan Cregan each missed wide on their respective shots in the final seconds of the game as host Rensselaer held on for the 12-11 victory in a women's non-conference lacrosse game. Four Golden Flyers, including Davis, scored two goals apiece.
With the loss, 20th-ranked Nazareth drops to 3-2 overall. The Golden Flyers' two losses have come by just one goal in each contest. The Engineers improve to 2-2 overall following the victory.

Chelsey Amidon put Nazareth on the board just 1:40 into the game as she scored opened the game with an unassisted goal. After RPI tied the game about a minute later, Amidon scored her second goal of the game to reclaim the Golden Flyers' lead.
The Engineers tallied the next two goals to take their first lead of the game 3-2 with 8:57 to play in the half. Freshman
Alyssa Johnston answered for Nazareth just 32 seconds later after receiving a pass from freshman
Erinn Wood to tie the game. The game remained tied until the final minute of the half when RPI scored a goal with 52 seconds and 6 seconds left in the period to take a 5-3 lead at halftime.

Michelle Cook tallied back-to-back goals in the first 4:08 of the second half to tie the game, 5-5. The Golden Flyers and Engineers traded goals over the next 14 minutes in a wild second half that featured five ties and two lead changes. Junior
Kristine Olijnyk and Young scored goals separated by just 10 seconds to temporarily give Nazareth a 7-6 lead. RPI then scored consecutive goals before Davis found the back of the net on a free position shot to tie the game, 8-8, with 18:29 left in regulation.
After Shannon Maguire put the Engineers back into the lead, senior
Alyssia Roberts answered for the Golden Flyers to again tie the score. RPI then tallied two consecutive goals to claim an 11-9 lead with 8:35 to play in the period. Nazareth, however, continued to battle. With about six minutes to play, Olijnyk scored her second goal of the game to cut the Golden Flyers' deficit to one goal.
With under two minutes remaining in regulation, Afton Marshall scored her fourth goal of the game to reclaim the Engineers' two-goal lead. Davis cut Nazareth's deficit to one goal with 58 seconds to play, but the Golden Flyers were unable to score the equalizer in the final seconds.
RPI finished with advantages in shots (31-25), ground balls (27-22), and draw controls (15-10). Nazareth's defense forced the Engineers into committing 14 turnovers and held RPI to converting just 1-6 free position opportunities. Senior
Ann Sessler made a game-high 12 saves in goal for the Golden Flyers while Ariana Hood tallied eight saves for the Engineers.
Nazareth hosts Hamilton Friday afternoon, then St. Lawrence Saturday afternoon in non-conference games.
