Box Score UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, OH - Seven unanswered goals in the second quarter by John Carroll helped them roll to a 17-4 victory over Nazareth, on Wednesday evening. The Golden Flyers stay winless on the season, falling to 0-8 overall while John Carroll improves to 3-3.
 
How It Happened:

• Nazareth got the goal scoring started four minutes into the first quarter, courtesy of Megan Martin. Grace Gardner picked up the assist on the play.
• John Carroll responded with four straight goals in six minutes to take a 4-1 lead. 
• Just two minutes later, Gwen Newtown would get the Golden Flyers back within two, closing out the first quarter. Goaltender Allie Klestinec was strong in the first, making eight saves to keep Nazareth in it. 
• 45 seconds into the second quarter, Grace Gardner buried an unassisted goal to cut the John Carroll lead to 4-3.
• The remainder of the second quarter was all John Carroll, as they scored eight straight goals to jump out to a 12-3 lead at halftime. 
• JCU added on four more in the third quarter, extending their lead to 16-3. 
• Both teams traded goals in the fourth, including another from Grace Gardner, but John Carroll ultimately secured the 17-4 victory.
