ROCHESTER, NY - Grace Gardner's five goal performance helped Nazareth to a dominant 19-2 victory over SUNY Poly, on Wednesday evening. With the win, the Golden Flyers secure their first of the season to improve to 1-9 overall and 1-1 in Empire 8 play. 
 
How It Happened:

• Grace Gardner got Nazareth on the board early, scoring on the first possession to take the lead just 21 seconds in. 
• Nazareth would add on two quick goals shortly after, courtesy of Briana Panko and Megan Martin. Then, Grace Gardner would double down, making it 4-0 Nazareth to force a SUNY Poly timeout. 
• After a couple goals from SUNY Poly, Gwen Newtown would score three in a row for Nazareth to give them a 7-2 lead after the first quarter. 
• The second quarter was more of the same for the Golden Flyers as they added six more goals to lead 13-2 at the break. 
• Nazareth slowed the pace of the game down in the second half. Late in the third quarter, Maya Garrison scored her first collegiate goal to make it 17-2. 
• The fourth quarter would only see two goals for Nazareth as they cruised to a 19-2 victory.

Game Notes:

• Grace Gardner recorded five goals, setting a career high and added two assists
• Gwen Newtown and Megan Martin both had three goals
• Amber Enright, Maria DeLorenzo, and Isabella Bonventre registered one goal and one assist
• Nazareth recorded a season high 31 shots on goal and a season low 15 turnovers
