PITTSFORD, N.Y. -- Sophomore
Jay Stith posted a second-round score of 79 Monday to finish as Nazareth's top individual scorer at the Nazareth Invitational played at irondequoit Country Club.
Combined with Sunday's first-round score of 84, Stith finished with a 163 total to place in a tie for 15th place.
St. John Fisher captured the team title as the Cardinals had the top two individual finishers. Their stroke total of 598 was 16 shots better than runner-up Allegheny (614). University of Rochester (629) finished in third place, followed by Roberts Wesleyan (675) and Nazareth (692).
Fisher's Tyler McArdell earned individual honors with a pair of 73s for a two-day total of 146. Teammate Justin Tyo was three shots back with rounds of 71 and 78 for a 149 total.
For Nazareth, sophomore Mike Bufalini finished one shot behind Stith with scores of 78 and 86 for a 164 total. Junior
Tyler Woodward was next with a 165 total following scores of 79 and 86. Senior
Ben Herrmann shot 81 Monday to go with Sunday's 90 for a 171 total.
Colin Doran (87-99 -- 186);
Zack Martin (94-99 -- 193) and
Peter Savino (101-98 -- 199) also competed for the Golden Flyers, who completed their fall schedule.
