BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Senior guard
Sally Wilcox scored all of her team-high 12 points in the first half on four three-point baskets Tuesday to lead visiting Nazareth to a 64-56 non-conference women's basketball victory over Buffalo State.
The Golden Flyers improved to 3-2 overall. Buffalo State is 1-4 overall. The Golden Flyers are home Saturday to open their Empire 8 Conference schedule against RIT at 2 p.m. The game will be available on webcast at

Wilcox came off the bench to score all of her points in the first half as the Golden Flyers were building a 36-23 advantage. Her first trey came with 12:20 left in the half to bring Nazareth to within 11-9. Freshman
Brittany Patenaude followed with another three on Nazareth's next possession to give Nazareth the lead, 12-11.
Wilcox kept shooting and hitting as she nailed three more three-pointers in a five-minute stretch to lift Nazareth to an eight-point advantage, 25-17, with 6:16 left.
The Golden Flyers hit 7 of 12 shots from long distance in the first half and extended their lead to double digits as junior
Rachel Pirozzolo hit a three to make the score 30-19 with 3:13 left. Another three-pointer from freshman
Amber Leonard enabled Nazareth to maintain its double digit lead and freshman
Brittany Wilson made two free throws with :29 left in the half to make it 36-23 at the break.
Yet another three-pointer, this one by junior
Kelly Dunne, just 1:30 into the second half gave Nazareth its largest lead of the game, 39-25.
Buffalo State rallied to within three points, 41-38, on a free throw by Sarah Thompson with 13:11 left, but Nazareth stayed ahead as senior
Lizzie Barlow scored all nine of her points in the second half and junior
Jamie Malloy scored eight points, including a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line.
Malloy made two free throws with :36 left to keep Nazareth's lead at 10 points, 62-52. Dunne made two more free throws with :19 left to seal the victory.
"It was a pretty solid effort on the road," said Nazareth second-year coach
Devin Gotham. "They got to within three, but we kept our poise and did a good job finishing the game."
While Wilcox was the only Nazareth player to score in double figures, the Golden Flyers got seven points each from Dunne and Pirozzolo and six points from Wilson to go with five assists. Freshman
Brittany Tallchief had a team-high eight rebounds.
Buffalo State's Barb Kiliszek led all scorers with 20 points. Shareese Hamer added 18 points with a game-high 10 rebounds.
