Nazareth blanks Shepherd, 9-0

HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- After getting rained out of a match on Tuesday, Nazareth's women's tennis team was back on the court Thursday as the Golden Flyers blanked Shepherd University of West Virginia, 9-0.

Nazareth breezed through all six singles matches in straight sets with seniors Alex Vizgaitis and Christine Cary winning at second and third singles respectively. Junior Alison Tepas won 6-0, 6-1 at first singles and sophomore Krista Pagan won 6-0, 6-0 at fifth singles. Freshmen Ami Petosa and Hannah Teter won at fourth and sixth singles respectively.

In doubles action, Nazareth easily captured all three points. Sophomores Elizabeth Crane and Adrienne Sharza had the closest match, winning 8-4 at third doubles.

The Golden Flyers complete their spring break trip Friday against College of Wooster at 8 a.m.
