HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- Freshmen Bret Beaver and Jeremy Mancus each won matches at singles and doubles for the Golden Flyers Thursday as Nazareth defeated Greenville College of Illinois, 6-3.

The Golden Flyers are 2-2 on their spring trip to Hilton Head, S.C. with one match remaining -- Friday vs. Missouri Valley at 8 a.m.

On Thursday, Beaver was a straight-set winner at sixth singles, 6-2, 6-2 and also teamed with senior Steve Trobert for a 9-8 (7-3) victory at third doubles. Mancus won in straight sets at fifth singles and combined with junior Adam Landry for an 8-3 win at second doubles.

Nazareth also earned points from freshman Ryan McCormick at first singles as he won 6-2, 6-3 and freshman Josh Mulligan, who won 6-1, 6-3 at fourth singles.
