Mary Cushman, a former scholastic standout at Irondequoit High School, was named interim head coach of the Nazareth women's volleyball team in 2019. She previously served on the Golden Flyers' athletic staff as a part-time assistant coach for the 2014 and 2015 seasons.
Cushman earned an array of scholastic accolades and went on to play four seasons at Division I Maryland, where she graduated in 2014 with a degree in Family Science.
At Maryland, Cushman served as team captain for three seasons and was named to the Atlantic Coast Conference's all-Academic Team four times. She also served as vice president of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee for 2013-14.
Cushman excelled as a player at Irondequoit for four seasons and was named All-Greater Rochester Player of the Year in 2010.
