Nursing major. . . born 11/6/89. . . daughter of Jerry Conte and Lisa Merritt, Caledonia, N.Y. . . Conte is competing on the women's basketball team for her first season. . .  was the leading scorer on the Golden Flyers' soccer team in 2009 and was a first-team Empire 8 Conference all-star as a midfielder. . . was E8 Rookie of the Year for 2007. . . missed all but six games of the 2008 season due to a knee injury. . . Scholastic: a graduate of Caledonia-Mumford High School, Conte was a standout in soccer and basketball there. . . was a member of the varsity basketball and soccer teams. . . earned first-team all-state and first-team all-Greater Rochester honors in soccer after completing career as Cal-Mum's all-time leading scorer with 104 goals and 44 assists. . . received second-team all-Greater Rochester honors as a junior and named the Section Five Birds Eye Player of the Week in soccer and basketball. . . also a three-time Livingston County League all-star. . . a league all-star in basketball, Conte set school scoring records for career (1,165) and single season (405). . . won several academic awards, including the Academic Excellence Award, Academic Achievement for the Hardest Working, and Academic Achievement for the Most Enthusiastic.
