Accounting major. . . son of Thomas and Lynn Matteo, Batavia, N.Y. . . returning for his third season, Matteo finished the 2008-09 season with a 5-8 record, including a 5-4 record at sixth singles. . . recorded three doubles victories at third doubles. . . 2007-08: Matteo won once in singles and finished 1-1 in doubles. . . competed for the Nazareth track and field team in 2006 and holds the indoor pole vault mark of 3.70 meters. . . Scholastic: a graduate of Batavia High School, Matteo was a top pole vaulter for the track and field team for three seasons. . . recipient of team Most Improved and Iron Man awards . . . helped team to Section Five Class titles in 2005 and 2006 . . . graduated 10th in class of ‘06. . . served as class president.
