Public Health major … daughter of Deda and Gjovana Gjonaj of Yonkers, N.Y... returning for her fourth season, Gjonaj played in all 25 games in 2019-20, including 24 as a starter... contributed 4.2 points and 4.7 rebounds per game and led the Empire 8 (and ranked 35th nationally) in blocked shots with 61 (2.4 per game)... equaled a single-game school record (set by Sandy DeWolf in 1991) with eight blocks against Fredonia on 12/3/19... had a season-high 12 points in home win over Hamilton on 11/26/19... had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds in a win at Alfred on 1/11/20.
2018-19: Gjonaj started all 26 games for the Golden Flyers in 2018-19 and contributed 5.7 points and 6.4 rebounds per game with an Empire 8-best 53 blocked shots (2.04 per game)... also led the Golden Flyers with a .504 field goal percentage (67-for-133) and was second on the team with 25 steals... reached double digits in scoring five times with a career-high of 15 points in a win over Stevens on 1/11/19... grabbed a career-high 17 rebounds against RIT on 12/6/18... had six blocks against St. John Fisher on 2/8/19.
2017-18: Gjonaj proved to be a defensive force for the Golden Flyers in 2017-18 as she appeared in 24 games, including 19 as a starter... averaged 2.8 points and 3.3 rebounds per game with a team-best 32 blocked shots... had a season-best 12 points in a victory over Sage on 1/27/18... grabbed nine rebounds against Utica on 1/26/18.
Scholastic: a graduate of The Ursuline School, Gjonaj played four years of varsity basketball there... All-Conference selection... helped team to four straight league titles.
