International Business major… born 03/25/93… daughter of John and Lauren Van Cott, Penfield, N.Y… returning for her second season with the Golden Flyers, Van Cott appeared in 31 matches in 2012 and 86 sets… totaled 46 kills and 72 digs… had a career-best nine kills in a three-set sweep of Alfred on 9/22/12… had eight digs in a four-set win over Medaille on 9/14/12…
Scholastic: a 2011 graduate of Webster Schroeder High School, Van Cott played four varsity seasons in high school and earned an array of honors, including second-team all-state in 2010… also a three-time Section Five all-star and a two-time All-Greater Rochester choice by the Democrat and Chronicle… helped team to Section Five title in 2010 as well as Western Regional title and runner-up in state tournament… earned NYSPHAA Sportsmanship Award for 2010… recipient of several academic awards and was a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society and Business & Marketing Honor Society of New York… recipient of Nazareth Founders Scholarship.
