THROGGS NECK, NY (nazathletics.com) - Nazareth Men's Soccer (2-0-0) scored twice in a span of 64 seconds early in the second half to pull away from Maritime (0-1-0), 3-1, Sunday at Reinhart Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Tyler Warmington put Nazareth on the board just 2:41 into the contest, converting a penalty kick to give the Golden Flyers an early 1-0 advantage.
- Nazareth maintained its lead through most of the opening half before Maritime tied the game on a penalty kick with 2:58 remaining before halftime.
- Cash Rosado restored Nazareth's lead at 53:46 when he finished a pass from Warmington, giving the Golden Flyers a 2-1 advantage.
- Just 64 seconds later, Samuel Burton headed home a corner kick from Braden Callahan to extend Nazareth's lead to 3-1.
- The Golden Flyers controlled play after taking the lead, generating seven corner kicks in the second half and limiting Maritime to three shots after halftime.
GAME NOTES
- Warmington finished with a goal and an assist, while Rosado and Burton each added a goal. Callahan contributed an assist.
