NEW HARTFORD, NY (nazathletics.com) – The Nazareth women's golf team crushed Utica at Yahnundasis Golf Club over two days of play. They ended day one with a commanding 47-stroke lead on Sunday, and repeated that performance with another strong showing on Monday, where they extended their lead and closed out a 75-stroke victory (+136 - +212).
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Emily Mayer took home the first individual event win of her young collegiate career. She earned her 1st-place finish with a two-day score of +19. On Monday, she secured the win with birdies on the 8th and 18th holes and 8 pars, shooting an 83 (+10).
• Bethany Wineburg came in 2nd overall individually with a total score of +24. She opened her Monday round with a birdie before adding another on hole 12, highlighting her score of 85 (+12).
• Savannah Warfield shot a 97 (+24) on day two, finishing the Invitational at +35. Her total score landed her a 5th-place finish in her second ever collegiate event.
• 4th among Golden Flyers and 9th overall was Abigail Denz, who turned in a two-day score of +59. On Monday, she shot a 102 (+29) with pars on holes 7 and 12.
• Sabrina Schultz placed 12th overall with a score of +77. She carded a 112 (+39) on day two.

 
WHAT'S NEXT
The Golden Flyers are facing a quick turnaround, getting right back on the tee-box on Thursday, September 24th at Lakeside Country Club in Penn Yann, New York. They'll be competing in the single-day Keuka Invitational where they'll hope to earn another win.
