LOUISVILLE, Ky (nazathletics.com) - Nazareth Softball sophomore
Kaijah Alexander has been named to the 2026 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III Players and Pitchers to Watch List, the organization announced Thursday. One-hundred-eighteen student-athletes from across the country were named to the list which is separated into the 10 NCAA regions and is compiled by the elected members of the NFCA Division III All-America Committee with one head coach representing each of the 10 NCAA regions.
As a freshman, Alexander earned All-American, NFCA DIII Freshman of the Year , first team All-Region, Empire 8 All-Tournament team, Empire 8 All-Conference first team, and Empire 8 Rookie of the Year accolades. The California-native smashed multiple Nazareth records in her first spring, including the single season homer record with 16 total home runs, the single season batting average with a .536, the single season slugging percentage with a 1.064, RBIs with 56 runs batted in, and hits with 59 total. Also, as a freshman, Alexander is only one homer away from tying Nazareth's career home run record set at 17 by Laura Persico in 2007-2009. In conference play, she was second in batting average with a .568 in while leading the Empire 8 in slugging percentage with a 1.081. She also led the conference in hits with 42, RBIs with 41, and home runs with 11. In the field, Alexander was tied for fourth in assists with 41 and second in fielding double plays with seven.
In just 12 games as a sophomore, Alexander hit two home runs to rise to first in Nazareth program history for career long balls with 18.
