Men’s Lacrosse Downed By No. 15 St. Lawrence, 13-9

ROCHESTER, NY (nazathletics.com) - Nazareth Men's Lacrosse (0-5) fell to No.15 St. Lawrence (3-1), 13-9, Saturday afternoon at NLPA Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • St. Lawrence opened with three straight goals until Nazareth answered with a three-goal run of their own to tie it at three. Matthew Farrington started the rally from Hayden Lucas, Lucas followed with a goal from Louis Cogliandro and Cogliandro capped the surge off a pass from Alex Garrow to make it 3-3 before a late St. Lawrence goal made it 4-3 after one.
  • Farrington quickly tied the game again just eight seconds into the second period on a feed from William O'Neill but St. Lawrence responded with five straight goals over the remainder of the quarter to build a 9-4 halftime lead.
  • George Monahan scored off a pass from William Meagher to cut into the deficit to open the second half before Cogliandro added an unassisted goal later in the quarter but St. Lawrence answered twice to maintain an 11-6 edge heading to the fourth.
  • After the Saints pushed the margin to 13-6 in the fourth quarter, Nazareth responded with three late goals. Kyle Rosenberger scored from Monahan, Cogliandro added another from Farrington and Rosenberger finished a feed from Parker Wilcox in the last minute to make the 13-9 final.
