Nazareth College Athletics

ITHACA, NY - The Golden Flyers came up just short in another tight contest on Wednesday afternoon, falling 9-8 to Ithaca despite holding multiple leads throughout the game. Nazareth stays winless on the season, dropping to 0-4 on the season.
 
How It Happened:

• The Golden Flyers got the scoring going just 4:50 in, courtesy of William Meagher. Shortly after, Louis Cogliandro gave Nazareth a 2-0 lead, with his fourth of the season.
• Ithaca broke through in the closing minute of the first quarter to make it a one goal game, but Kyle Rosenberger had the answer, burying his fifth of the season to restore the 3-1 advantage.
• However, Ithaca would crawl back and tie things up, scoring with 3:32 left in the first half. 
• Then, with just one second remaining in the first half, Louis Cogliandro doubled down, giving Nazareth momentum and the lead, 4-3 at the break. 
• Coming out of halftime, Ithaca and Nazareth traded goals, with the Golden Flyers maintaining a one goal advantage after a tally from Kyle Rosenberger. However, Ithaca responded with a dominant stretch, scoring four unanswered goals in a span of roughly six minutes to take control, 9-5
• Nazareth battled back in the fourth with three goals but ultimately came up short, losing 9-8. Louis Cogliandro and Kyle Rosenberger contributed for Nazareth.

• Kyle Rosenberger led the way offensively, recording 4 goals and 1 assist
• Louis Cogliandro registered 3 goals and 1 assist
• William Meagher had 1 goal
• Sven Habitzreuther made 9 saves

What's Next:

• The Golden Flyers will look to get their first win of the season on Saturday, March 7th as they take on St. Lawrence at NPLA field. The game is set to start at 2 p.m.
