KISSIMMEE, Fla. (nazathletics.com) - Nazareth Softball (2-2) fell to Ursinius (4-4), 6-2, and Endicott (1-3), 6-1, on the second day of Spring Games competition at Fortune Road Athletic Complex.
GAME ONE: URSINUS 6, NAZARETH TWO
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Nazareth struck first in the opening inning when Bryanna Moroughan worked a leadoff walk, stole second and eventually came around to score on a Morgan Russo RBI groundout, giving the Golden Flyers an early 1-0 lead.
- Nazareth added another run in the second inning to extend the lead to 2-0 as the lineup strung together contact and pressure on the bases before Ruby Marrapese knocked in the Golden Flyers second run of the day.
- Ursinus broke through with a six-run frame in the fourth inning that included multiple hits and a home run to flip the score from Nazareth's 2-0 lead to a 6-2 deficit.
- Nazareth continued to put balls in play in the final innings but couldn't push another run across, leaving the early two-run start as the final scoring for the Golden Flyers in the 6-2 result

GAME TWO: ENDICOTT 6, NAZARETH 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Nazareth fell behind 2-0 in the first inning after a pair of RBI plays before settling in defensively with Amanda Linnenbrink recording a strikeout to help limit further damage.
- The Golden Flyers answered in the second when Haleigh Suitor singled and moved into scoring position before Ella Maloney lined an RBI single to right field to bring Suitor home and cut the deficit to 2-1.
- The lead grew in the second inning on a two-run single followed by another RBI hit that pushed the margin to 5-1, though Linnenbrink added another strikeout in the frame.
- Nazareth threatened in the third when Morgan Russo singled, Kaijah Alexander walked and Haleigh Suitor reached on an error to load the bases, but the rally ended with a strikeout that stranded all three runners.
- Another run came home in the fourth on an error, extending the lead to 6-1 before Linnenbrink finished the inning with key outs.
GAME NOTES
- Madison Hicks notched a hit in her third consecutive game, coming off the bench to grab a single in the fourth inning.
- Bryanna Moroughan has recorded hits in all four of her first games as a Golden Flyer, going 2-for-7 at the plate this afternoon.

Nazareth returns to Spring Game action Tuesday, March 17, against UW-Platteville and Southern Maine. First pitch is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. at the Fortune Road Athletic Complex.
