Men's Lax Overtaken in Overtime By Endicott, 10-9

ROCHESTER, NY – A four-goal lead at halftime was erased as the Nazareth men's lacrosse team fell 10-9 to Endicott in the season-opener on Saturday at NLPA field. Nazareth drops to 0-1 on the season, while the Gulls move to 1-0.

How it Happened:
  • Nazareth led 7-3 at halftime. Matthew Farrington scored from Joey Hathorn nearly five minutes into the second quarter to give the hosts a 4-2 lead.
  • After a Gulls goal with 5:05 remaining, Nazareth scored the final three goals in the half. Even strength goals from Hathorn and George Monahan and an extra-man from William O'Neil.
  • Nazareth had a strong game in net from first year Sven Habitzreuther who made seven saves in each half for a total of 14 in his first career start.
  • The Golden Flyers built their largest lead of the game when William Meagher netted an assist from Hathorn.
  • After Meagher's goal at 13:44 of the third, Nazareth did not score again until 4:03 left in the contest.
  • The Gulls evened the scored at 8-8 with under 7 minutes left in the fourth. Hathorn netted his second of the day at 4:03 to give the hosts a brief lead before the Gulls tied on the ensuing faceoff.
  • In overtime, Endicott won the faceoff and eventually got the game-winner 1:08 in.

  • O'Neill as good for two goals, while Kyle Rosenberger and Farrington each had 1 goal and 1 assist
