NEW HAVEN, CT. – The Nazareth men's hockey team's 3-1 win secured a top-four seed spot which guarantees a home playoff game. The Golden Flyers broke through with two second-period goals and sealed the result late with an empty-netter over Albertus Magnus on Friday night. The Golden Flyers improve to 15-6-3 overall (9-5-1 conference), while the Falcons fall to 15-9-0 (7-8-0).
HOW IT HAPPENED:

The opening period was a defensive battle, with both teams generating chances but neither able to find the back of the net.

Nazareth goaltender Paul Dalessio turned aside every Albertus Magnus opportunity, keeping the game scoreless through 20 minutes.

Nazareth broke the deadlock early in the second period. Just 2:21 in, Will Halecki finished a setup from Andrew Miller and Cameron Bauer to give the Golden Flyers a 1–0 lead.

The momentum stayed with Nazareth, and midway through the period, Gabriel LaFlamme doubled the advantage, scoring at 11:37 off an assist from Logan Tobias to make it 2–0 heading into the intermission.

Albertus Magnus pushed back in the third period and cut the deficit to one when Linas Dedinas scored at the 12:47 mark.

The Falcons pressed late with the net empty, but Nazareth held firm defensively. With just two seconds remaining, Blake Frost sealed the win with an empty-net goal to secure the 3–1 final.
