ROCHESTER, NY - The University of Rochester exploded for seven first quarter goals to defeat Nazareth 17-4, on Thursday evening. Nazareth falls to 0-1 on the season while Rochester improves to 1-0 on the season. 
 
How It Happened:

• Rochester got off to a fast start, scoring four goals in just seven minutes to take a 4-1 lead. 
• Rochester would add on three more in the first quarter, to take a 7-1 lead.
• The second half was more of the same as Rochester carried play and tacked on four more goals to take a 11-1 lead into halftime. 
• Nine minutes into the third period, Gwen Newtown scored off a nice pass from Anna Myers to make it 13-2. 
• Grace Gardner would add on two more goals for the Golden Flyers in the fourth quarter to make it 17-4 Rochester.

Game Notes:

• Grace Gardner scored a hat trick
• Gwen Newtown recorded her first goal of the season
• Rochester has won 7 out of the last 8 games against Nazareth
