GENESEO, NY –The Golden Flyers found themselves in another tight Empire 8 showdown as they fell 84–79 in overtime at SUNY Geneseo. Nazareth suffers their first conference loss of the season, falling to 2-1 in Empire 8 play and 8-4 overall. 

How It Happened:

• Katie MacLachlan and Molly Benett has a strong start for Nazareth, trading baskets with Geneseo throughout an even first quarter that ended tied, 19–19.
• A 9–2 run by Nazareth gave them a 28–23 advantage, but Geneseo would close the gap to finish the second quarter, tying the game 35–35.
• Nazareth came out firing in the third, riding a 14–6 run behind Madalyn Kelly and Katie MacLachlan to take their largest lead of the night at 51–41.
• Geneseo would respond to trim the deficit to 57–55 heading into the fourth.
• Nazareth held a narrow lead deep into the fourth quarter before Geneseo tied the game at 65–65, with under three minutes remaining. Molly Benetti's late finish helped force overtime with the score knotted at 72–72.
• In the extra session, Geneseo struck first and maintained the edge throughout. Nazareth tied the game twice, including on a Molly Benetti layup with 25 seconds left, but the Knights converted at the free‑throw line in the closing moments to secure the 84–79 final.

• Madalyn Kelly led Nazareth with 20 points, including three three‑pointers.
• Molly Benetti added 19 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 blocks.
• Katie MacLachlan posted a double‑double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, plus 4 assists and 2 blocks.
• Leah Fusilli contributed 9 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists off the bench.
• Kiara Anglin scored 8 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.
• Nazareth's bench outscored Geneseo's 31–14.
