Katie MacLachlan had a team-high 16 points, surpassing 1,000 for her career, as Nazareth routed St. John Fisher 70-52. Nazareth, winners of six straight, is now 14-4 overall and 8-1 in Empire 8 play, while St. John Fisher drops to 8-10 and 5-4, respectively.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Nazareth got out to a strong start, building a 14-6 lead following a traditional 3-point play from Kiara Anglin. Tessa Schuey then drilled a 3-pointer for a 17-6 lead.
- Th Golden Flyers led 19-12 after the first quarter.
- Payton Littlefield hit her third 3-pointer of the game with two minutes left in the half to push the Golden Flyers lead to 33-21.
- Nazareth led 35-23 at the half, turning Fisher over 11 times to just four for the Cardinals. For the game, Nazareth won the turnover battle 28-11.
- The Golden Flyers opened up the game in the third quarter, holding the Cardinals to just one field goal (1-for-8) to up its lead to 54-34.
GAME NOTES
- MacLachlan is the 19th player in program history to eclipse the 1,000-point mark. She led the way with 16 points on 6-for-13 and had nine rebounds.
- Anglin tied a career-high with seven steals. She had 12 points, five assists, and nine rebounds.
- Molly Benetti went for 10 points, 3 blocks, and 4 rebounds.
- The win was one of the larger margins of victory in the storied history, dating back to 1974-75. Nazareth defeated the Cardinals in 2024-25 by a 19-point margin.
