Men's Hockey Rolled by #12 Utica

ROCHESTER, NY – 12th-ranked Utica scored seven goals in the second period en route to a 9-1 victory over the Nazareth men's hockey team on Saturday night. Utica remains unbeaten in conference play at 6-0-0 and 10-5-0 overall, and Nazareth drops to 9-6-1 and 3-5-0, respectively.

How it Happened:
  • The lone goal in the first period came from the Pioneers.
  • After an even strength goal nearly two minutes into the second, the flood gates opened with three-straight power play goals from Utica.
  • Two of the Pioneer goals were on a 5-on-3 and the other on a 5-on-4, making it 5-0.
  • Two more goals were scored by the visitors before Ryan Parent scored his first collegiate goal off an assist from Kai Shen.
  • Utica added one more goal in the second and its final goal in the third.
Game Notes
  • Paul Dalessio got the start in net, playing nearly 28 minutes, allowing five goals and making 13 saves.
  • Lincoln Crosby played over 32 minutes, making 22 saves, and allowing four goals.
