Field Hockey Falls to No. 25 Rochester in Overtime

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Nazareth Field Hockey (1-1) fell to No. 25 Rochester (3-0), 3-2, in overtime Wednesday night after forcing extra time with a last-second goal in regulation at NLPA Field. 

HOW IT HAPPENED 
  • Golden Flyers goalie Lauren Bachner posted a dominant scoreless first half, making nine saves including two on penalty strokes
  • The game remained scoreless on both sides until the Yellowjackets notched back-to-back goals in the third quarter to lead 2-0
  • Bella Raymond found the back of the next for Nazareth with just ten seconds left in the third off a penalty-corner assist from Isabel Porterfield to put the Golden Flyers on the board
  • Bachner stepped up again in the fourth quarter, recording three saves to keep Rochester's advantage to one 
  • With just seven seconds left in regulation, Hannah Janes tied up the contest at two off a long pass from Michaela Cushman 
  • Bachner stopped three more shots in the final period before the Yellowjackets netted a score three minutes into overtime to secure a 3-2 victory
GAME NOTES
  • Goalie Lauren Bachner notched a season-high 18 saves in the loss, just one shy of her career-high of 19 set at William Smith, Oct. 5, 2022
  • Hannah Janes recorded her second consecutive game with at least one goal after she registered Nazareth's last second score to send the contest into overtime
