ROCHESTER, NY – On Tuesday, the Nazareth men's tennis team completed the season sweep of East Avenue rival St. John Fisher, winning by a 6-3 score.
The Golden Flyers remain tied for the top of the West Division of the Empire 8 at 5-1 with one match to play against Houghton (4-2) on Friday. Nazareth currently holds the tiebreaker over (Oswego) in total points head-to-head at 11 to Oswego's 7. With a win over Houghton on Friday, Nazareth would be the number one seed out of the west division. In 2025, the West Division No. 1 seed will host the semifinals and championship. The second and third seeded East teams will play on Saturday, April 26, while the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds from the West will play on Tuesday, April 29.

Nazareth two of three doubles matches. The closest contest was
Griffin Bond and
Max Funiciello winning 8-7 (7-0).
David Tuller, along with
Pierre Ntonga took third doubles 8-1.
Nazareth third-sixth singles took care of business. Ntonga (third singles) and
Enoch Li (fifth singles) each went to three sets. Ntonga won 5-7, 6-2, 6-1 and Li 3-6, 6-1, 6-2.
Noah Britton handled fourth singles 6-1, 6-2 and Chris Bendict won sixth singles 6-2, 6-1.
The Golden Flyers host Houghton on Friday at 4 p.m. on the Annette Shapiro Courts. Nazareth defeated Houghton 6-3 in the first meeting of the season.
