Owen Riley had a career high seven points (4G, 3A) as the Nazareth men's lacrosse team won its seventh-straight game on Wednesday, downing Alfred 19-8 at NLPA Field. In addition,
Quinn McKercher tied a season-high with eight points on four goals and four assists. The graduate student came into the game with 299 points and is now at 307.
Nazareth moves to 10-4 overall and 6-0 in league play, while Alfred drops to 4-7 and 2-4, respectively.
The Golden Flyers outscored the Saxons 5-2 in each of the first two quarters to take a 10-4 lead into the half.
Matthew Farrington added three goals and two assists, while
Louis Cogliandro added three goals. Cogliandro gave Nazareth a 13-5 lead near the nine-minute mark of the third.
The Golden Flyers finished by scoring the last three goals of the game, two from Farrington and one from McKercher. McKercher is now over 50 points for the season with 32 goals and 21 assists. Farrington is the second-leading scorer with 43 points off 27 goals and 16 assists.
Jakob Denkeberger won 10-of-18 faceoffs and
Cole Doldo went 6-for-12.
Joey Hathorn and
William Meagher each added a goal and an assist.
Kyle Rosenberger contributed two goals and one assist.
McLean Ralston picked up the win with three saves and seven goals allowed in 49:42 of play, while
Andrew Adams made two saves and allowed one goal in 10:18 of play.
Nazareth travels to St. John Fisher (10-4 overall, 6-0 E8) on Saturday for a 1 pm contest.
