ROCHESTER, NY – The Nazareth women's tennis team closed out the 2024-25 season on Saturday, downing Fredonia 7-0 in non-conference action at the Golisano Training Center.
Nazareth finishes the year 10-11 overall, while Fredonia drops to 5-8.
Catherine Zak and Kenna Ellis improved to 12-9 overall for the season at first doubles with a 6-1 win. Ali Klee and Sarah Stone won second doubles 6-3, while Isabella Iannitti and Victoria Cioni won third doubles 6-1.
The closest singles match came with Ellis at second singles. She came back from down 5-3 in the first to for a tie break where she won 7-3. She then took the second set 6-2.
Cioni improved to 10-9 on the year in singles play with a 6-3, 6-3 victory in the fourth slot.
Zak won first singles 6-1, 6-0 and Stone third singles 6-1, 6-2. Iannitti won sixth single with a 6-3 first set win before her opponent retired.
