ROCHESTER, NY – Host RIT scored four of the last five goals of the game to earn a 13-11 victory over the Nazareth women's lacrosse team on Wednesday night.
Julia Dietz and
Sophia Scialdone each finished with three goals and two assists.
Nazareth drops to 1-2 on the year, while RIT remains undefeated at 3-0.
Scialdone,
Makenna Misiurewicz, and Dietz all had first quarter goals and the score was 3-3 after 15 minutes of play.
The first 10 minutes of the second quarter belonged to the Tigers and they scored four-straight goals to open up a 7-3 advantage. Nazareth had two key goals to close out the half, the first from Scialdone and the other from Dietz on the woman down opportunity. Both assists came from
Katherine McPeak.
In the third, Misiurewicz netted her second of the day with 2:19 to play to even the score at 9-9.
Nazareth took its first lead of the game when
Emily Paddock scored on the extra-attacker opportunity nearly four minutes into the quarter. RIT responded with the next three goals to take a 12-10 advantage.
Liddie Hoare netted her second of the day with 3:05 to play from Dietz, but RIT responded a minute later for the final tallied of the game.
Allie Klestinec made 11 saves.
Nazareth will host Buffalo State on Saturday at 12 p.m. for the Face off Against Cancer Game.
