ROCHESTER, NY - The Nazareth women's lacrosse team scored the first six goals of the game and cruised to a 19-9 victory over Utica University on Saturday at NLPA field.
Sophia Scialdone,
Katherine McPeak, and
Julia Dietz all netted four goals in the win.
Nazareth is now 4-4 overall and 1-0 in Empire 8 play, while Utica is 3-4 and 0-1, respectively.
It was a phenomenal start for Nazareth as it jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the first quarter.
Liddie Hoare scored back-to-back goals on the run.
Dietz scored her second of the day to make it 6-0 before Utica eventually found the net nearly three minutes into the second.
It was 9-4 at the half.
Nazareth stormed out of halftime with the first four goals to seize control with goals from McPeak, two from Dietz and another from
Grace Gardner.
Allie Klestinec made 10 saves in the win.
Dietz and Scialdone each finished with four goals and three assists.
Makenna Misiurewicz went for three goals and 2 assists.Â
Nazareth hosts Rochester on Monday at 6 p.m.Â
