PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL - The Nazareth women's lacrosse team played right with the Stevenson Mustangs in the first half on Monday but were held to just three goals in the second, falling 19-19 in its first game of a spring break trip. Nazareth will square off against Hope College on Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET.
Nazareth is now 3-3 overall, while Stevenson moves to 5-3.
The purple and gold closed the first quarter with the final two goals, one from
Emily Paddock and the other from
Sophia Scialdone to pull within 5-4 after 15 minutes of play.
Katherine McPeak, Scialdone and
Liddie Hoare scored in the second as Nazareth trailed by two at the half, 9-7.
The Mustangs took control of the game in the third quarter, scoring the first five goals to open a 14-8 lead. Paddock netted her second of the day with 2:07 remaining in the third.
Scialdone and
Julia Dietz netted goals in the fourth. Scialdone now has a team-leading 19 goals on the season.
Allie Klestinec made 10 saves in the win.
