Hoare Notches Five In 11-10 Win Over Oswego For Women's Lax

OSWEGO, NY – Graduate student Liddie Hoare had a season-high five goals, including four in the second half, to help the Nazareth women's lacrosse team come-from-behind to defeat Oswego 11-10 on Wednesday.

Nazareth is now 3-2 overall, while Oswego drops to 2-3. 

The Golden Flyers trailed by as many as three goals on two separate occasions, including at 8-5 with 10:21 left in the third quarter.

However the tides of the game turned when Nazareth scored the next six goals of the game, beginning with Sophia Scialdone with 3:41 left in the third. Hoare netted back-to-back goals to help even the score at 8-8 heading into the final frame.

Hoare scored off the free position over three minutes into the fourth to give the Golden Flyers the lead for good. Julia Dietz and Scialdone also scored on the run to push the lead to 11-8. Scialdone finished the game with four goals.

The Golden Flyers defense stood tall for nearly 25 minutes without surrendering a goal to the Lakers to help shift momentum. Allie Klestinec made 14 saves in the win.

Makenna Misiurewicz added a goal while Dietz had one goal and two assists.

Nazareth will travel to Panama City Beach, FL for spring break, taking on Stevenson on Monday, March 17 at 11 a.m. and Hope College at 8 p.m. on March 18.
