In the first set, Nazareth jumped out to an early lead at 6-2, but the Saints soon closed the gap at 10-10. At a score of 17-16 in favor of Marymount, the Saints went on a four-point run to go up 21-16. With their backs against the wall, the Golden Flyers scored the next three points consecutively, thanks to an error from the Saints, an ace from Anthony Caimano, and a kill from Owen Wickens.

The third set had a lot of back and forth in the beginning. When Nazareth was up 17-15, Marymount went on a four-point run to go up 19-17. Despite bringing the lead down to one on multiple occasions, the Golden Flyers could not recover from the deficit and dropped the set 25-22.

The fifth set was neck-and-neck until the teams flipped sides at a score of 8-6 in favor of the Flyers. After the side change, Nazareth scored six consecutive points to make it match point at 14-6. A kill from Ryan Murphy closed out the set at a score of 15-7 as the Golden Flyers emerged victorious.
