ROCHESTER, NY – For the fourth-straight year, the Nazareth women's hockey team has wrapped up the UCHC regular season championship, downing Manhattanville 9-0 on Friday night behind nine different scorers.
Ivey Lyden,
Brooke Judkiewicz and
Sydney Swanson all finished the game with three points on one goal and two assists.
#14 Nazareth is now 17-6-1 overall and 9-2 in UCHC play. Manhattanville is 7-15-2 and 5-6, respectively. As the 1 seed, Nazareth will host No. 4 Chatham in the UCHC semifinals.
Nazareth opened with three goals in the first period. Swanson netted her third of the year, banging in a
Lindsay Moses rebound 5:27 into the game.
Red-hot Laskowski netted her team-leading 12
th of the season on a beautiful dangle backhander from
Brooke Judkiewicz and
Ivey Lyden. Laskowski is tied atop the UCHC with her 12 goals.
Judkiewicz score a beautiful backhander herself from Swanson with four minutes left in the period to make it 3-0.
After a scoreless second period, Nazareth had a barrage of five goals in the third, beginning with Moses at 3:07.
Alexis Kindred, Sharp, Lyden, Sophia Pittis and
Sydney Gurlea all scored in the period. Lyden and Pittis' goals were both on the power play.
McKinley Hoff was credited with eight saves in the win.
Nazareth will square off against Manhattanville at 3 p.m. on Saturday for Senior Day where the Golden Flyers will honor Lyden and Swanson.
