NAPERVILLE, IL – Fourth-ranked Cal Lutheran proved to be too much for the Nazareth men's volleyball team on Saturday as the Golden Flyers fell 25-17, 21-25, 25-18, 28-26.
The Golden Flyers are now 5-5 overall and Cal Lutheran is 10-1.
After dropping the opening set, Nazareth had its best set in the second, hitting .269 with 12 kills on 26 attempts with five errors.
In the fourth set, Nazareth led 22-19 and 24-22, but were unable to close the set.
Owen Wickens had season-highs in kills (20) and assists (15).
Josh Weaver put down 12 kills with six digs.
Alex Bertino was good for eight kills and six digs.
AJ Burda had 29 assists and 11 digs for a double-double.
Nazareth returns to action on Sunday, taking on North Central at 1 p.m.
