ROCHESTER, NY – The host Nazareth men's hockey team gave #6 Geneseo everything it could handle on Friday, falling 2-1 to the perennial power at Tim Horton's Iceplex. Nazareth falls to 3-4 overall and 0-3-0 in UCHC play, while Geneseo moves to 5-1-1 and 1-0-0, respectively.

How it Happened:

  • The Knights scored a beautiful wraparound goal near the midway point and took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

  • Goaltender Mason Joseph had a phenomenal period, making 20 saves, including a sliding save at the end of a power play to keep the score at 1-1.
  • The Golden Flyers killed off two penalties in the final 6 minutes of the second period.
  • In the third period, Joseph suffered a collision at the net that forced him to miss the rest of the game – Lincoln Crosby came in to finish the game.
  • The Knights scored the eventual game-winner nearly nine minutes in the period.
  • Nazareth pulled the goalie with a little over two minutes remaining, but were unable to find the equalizer.
