Field Hockey Falls To Hartwick On Senior Day

ROCHESTER, NY – Visiting Hartwick brought a heavy offensive presence, generating 20 penalty corners, en route to a 4-0 win over the Nazareth field hockey team on Saturday at NLPA Field. It was the first conference loss for the Golden Flyers. Nazareth is now 6-4 overall, and 3-1 in Empire 8 play, while Hartwick moves to 4-5 and 3-1, respectively.

How it Happened:
  • Hartwick came out strong in the opening half, generating 13 penalty corners to Nazareth's three to put the pressure on
  • The Hawks took advantage of one of those corners early in the second quarter to open up the scoring and take a 1-0 lead
  • With three minutes left in the half, Hartwick was awarded a penalty stroke which it converted to make it 2-0. The score remained that way until the half
  • Hartwick generated seven more penalty corners in the third and scored two more goals to make it 4-0
