ROCHESTER, NY - A four goal first half lifts the Golden Flyers over SUNY Poly on a rainy Wednesday evening. Nazareth improves to 7-4-3 overall and 5-3-1 in Empire 8 conference play. 
 

How It Happened:

• In the 10th minute, Nazareth would strike first as Samuel Burton notches his fourth goal of the season. It was a great overall play as four Golden Flyers were involved, with the assists going to Gibson Spector and Tyler Warmington. 

• Nazareth would keep the early pressure on, as the shots were 7-1 through 22 minutes of play.

• In the 28th minute, Zach Scott would make it 2-0 Nazareth, scoring a header off a corner kick from Alexander Kobayashi. 

• Just four minutes later, Nazareth would score again as Carson Keller sent a beautiful cross over to Joey Weaver who would head the ball past the SUNY Poly goalkeeper.

• Six minutes before the end of the 1st half, Spencer Neil would make it 4-0 Nazareth. Neil finished off a great corner kick from Alexander Kobayashi.

• The shots after the first half were 14-3 in favor of the Golden Flyers.

• An uneventful start to the second half did not see many chances until SUNY Poly would get one past Nazareth to make it 4-1.  

• In the dying minutes of the game, Spencer Neil had a chance to get his second of the game but the SUNY Poly goalkeeper made a diving save to deny the goal. The chance came from a great pass from Quentin Herrmann. 

• The shots finished 25-8 in favor of the Golden Flyers.

• Junior Zach Scott scored his first career goal as a Golden Flyer

• Both Samuel Burton and Spencer Neil scored their fourth goal of the season

• Defender Alexander Kobayashi finished the game with two assists

• The Golden Flyers host Elmira on Saturday, October 25th at 12 p.m. where they will honor their Seniors at Golden Flyer Stadium.
