ROCHESTER, N.Y. (nazathletics.com) - Nazareth Women's Volleyball (1-22, 1-6) fell to No. 20 St. John Fisher (22-1, 7-0), 3-0, inside Kidera Gymnasium Tuesday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Nazareth fell behind early as St. John Fisher capitalized on a quick start to build a sizable, 10-3 lead. The Golden Flyers put together a few late points to close the gap, but couldn't overcome the Cardinals' efficient attack in a 25-15 opening set.
- The second frame saw St. John Fisher take control early and extend its advantage with a strong, 13-2 offensive stretch midway through. Nazareth struggled to find consistency at the net and couldn't slow the Cardinals' momentum in a 25-8 loss.
- St. John Fisher continued to dictate play in the final set, using long scoring runs to keep Nazareth on the defensive. Despite moments of solid play from the Golden Flyers, the Cardinals closed out the match with another 25-8 decision.
MATCH NOTES
- Zipporah Sparkman led the Golden Flyers with six kills and two blocks, her third match with five or more kills this fall.
- Leah Fusilli added a team-best eight digs along with three kills and an assist
